About Us
Hats On Top was created by Elena Lewis, in 1994, originally situated on the Top Deck at Hull's Princes Quay (hence the name!). Elena studied Fashion Design, specialising in millinery, at the Epsom School of Art and Design. She later went on to study under Philip Treacy, the renowned milliner to royalty and the stars, in London, before returning to home territory.
In addition to owning stores nationwide, Elena has worked for several fashion and millinery manufacturing companies in both management and design.
Hats On Top have created one off designs for theatre companies, local celebrities and dignitaries, in addition to many satisfied customers, from as far a field as Australia, USA and Japan.
Three customers even travelled to Hull from Paris, on a friend's recommendation. They stayed overnight, whilst their designs were created, and returned home delighted customers!
